The MARINE GUEST HOUSE - Bed & Breakfast / Exclusive Use

We have four bedrooms located on the first floor - two double rooms one twin and a single bedroom . All bedrooms have wash basins and tea/coffee facilities. As with many old fashioned guest houses there are no ensuite rooms but the facilities are generous and they include bathrooms with wc, power shower and bath plus a separate toilet.

Guest have exclusive use of the first floor including a large comfortable living room with TV, stereo and pleasant views out to sea. Some of the rooms have sea views while others have an open view to the Winterfield golf course and the Bass Rock.

The house is ideal for families or small groups up to eight persons. Perfect for relaxing weekends or golfing breaks we have eight courses within 20 minutes of the house and instant access to the famous John Muir Country Park. The house is a regular favourite with divers and walkers.. Dunbar Station is only 10 minutes walk from the house and has direct connections to London, York and Newcastle as well as to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Dunbar is 18 miles from Edinburgh and 20 minutes drive from the golf courses of Gullane and Muirfield

Suitable for small groups, families, contractors, walkers or golfers, the house is available on a weekly / self catering basis for £120 per night

This provides 2 double, 1 twin and 1 single room, bathroom, additional toilet
living room plus small breakfast area complete with fridge, microwave and breakfast supplies.

LOCATION: Located on the edge of Dunbar overlooking the cliffs with distant views of the beach at John Muir Country Park the Marine Guest House offers an ideal location for affordable accommodation close to Edinburgh but with the added bonus of sea views, country walks and access to excellent golf courses. Visitors can explore this fascinating coastline with its historic links, castles and natural beauty. East Lothian has many delightful villages each with its own character and collection of shops, boutiques and antique shops. Less than twenty minutes by train is Edinburgh - Scotland's Capital City. Home to some of Scotland's world famous art collections and the location for the new Museum of Scotland Edinburgh also has many great shopping areas and some great bars and restaurants.

LEISURE FACILITIES: Dunbar is ideally located for visitors looking to explore East Lothian and its many market towns and villages. Birth place of John Muir - the pioneer of the American Country Parks - the town has a rich history and many enjoyable walks and historic sites. This is a real haven for walkers and cyclists with many small relatively flat routes throughout East Lothian. Dunbar's modern leisure centre contains a first class swimming pool, multi-gym and squash courts. Public tennis courts are just a few minutes walk from the house and we can lend guests racquets.Two golf courses are within a few minutes drive of the Marine Guest House and there are twelve courses within thirty minutes drive including Gullane and the famous Muirfield Championship course. Edinburgh and Glasgow are accessible directly by train from Dunbar Station.

RESTAURANTS: The Creel is a local restaurants serving excellent food only a few minutes walk from the Marine Guest House. Two local hotels - the Rocks and the Bayswell provide good value meals and friendly bars in which to enjoy the local Belhaven beers.
